1. Introduction

Welcome to GlowStride ("the App"), developed by MECreative. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use GlowStride on your iOS device. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how the app works.

By using GlowStride, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

GlowStride collects the following types of information to operate its core features:

  • Location Data: We use your device's GPS to track your route during activities (walks, runs, cycles) and to place virtual Glows near your real-world location. Location is only accessed while the app is in use and with your permission.
  • Health & Activity Data: With your permission via Apple HealthKit, we read step count, distance, and calorie data to calculate your progress, streaks, and quest completions. We may also write workout sessions back to Apple Health.
  • Activity Logs: Session data (duration, distance, steps, route) is stored locally on your device and backed up to iCloud when enabled.

3. How We Use Your Information

All data collected by GlowStride is used solely to provide app functionality:

  • Tracking and displaying your fitness activities on the map
  • Generating random Glows near your location at the start of each activity
  • Generating your daily quests and tracking quest progress
  • Calculating streaks, lifetime badge progress, and weekly stats
  • Backing up your data to iCloud so you never lose progress

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics sold to third parties, or machine learning purposes.

4. Data Storage & iCloud Sync

GlowStride stores your activity history, quest progress, streaks, and badge data locally on your device using Apple's native storage. When enabled, iCloud sync backs this data up to your personal iCloud account. We do not operate our own servers or databases. Your data lives on your device and your private iCloud account — we never have access to it.

5. Third-Party Services

GlowStride uses the following Apple system frameworks:

  • Apple HealthKit — for reading step count, distance, and calories
  • Apple MapKit — for displaying the live map during activities
  • Apple CloudKit / iCloud — for syncing your data across devices
  • Apple Core Location — for GPS tracking during activities

No third-party analytics SDKs, ad frameworks, or tracking tools are included in GlowStride.

6. HealthKit Data

GlowStride integrates with Apple HealthKit to read and, optionally, write fitness data. In compliance with Apple's guidelines:

  • HealthKit data is never shared with third parties
  • HealthKit data is never used for advertising or marketing
  • HealthKit data is never sold
  • You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Health → GlowStride

7. Children's Privacy

GlowStride is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take steps to address this.

8. Data Deletion

All your data is stored on your own device and iCloud account. To delete all GlowStride data, simply delete the app from your device. To remove iCloud data, go to iCloud Settings and manage GlowStride app data there. We have no server-side data to delete on your behalf.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
